Blogger Indonesia of the Week

A. Fatih Syuhud in his blog, Blogger Indonesia A. Fatih Syuhud Weblog, had mentioned me as Blogger Indonesia of the Week (61). Can you imagine that? I can't!!! Since this blog (Writing from My Desk) is actually a web diary and I don't think people appreciate web diary as high as any other kind of blog.

What grabbed Fatih's attention was my old posting on June 2002 about choosing between being a PNS (civil servant) and being a worker in a private company. He happened to write about civil servant--Civil Servant (PNS) Booming & Collective Corruption-- in his own blog early this year. Of course his writing was more sophisticated than mine. His political science background supported him with better understanding of government organization.

Back to "Blogger Indonesia of the Week", I thank Fatih for his appreciation to my blogs (he also mentioned my other blog). And I thank him for useful tutorial link to make my blogs be more exposed to search engine. And above all, I thank God for all His gifts to me. Alhamdulillah.

Happy Eid ul-Fitr

Happy Eid ul-Fitr to all friends who celebrate the festival. Endra and I celebrate the day on Monday, October 23, 2006. We agreed to hisab approach by Muhammadiyah--an Islamic organisation in Indonesia. We apologize for our wrong words and wrongdoing.

Early in the morning, we went to Pejompongan--an area in Jakarta-- to my parent's house and made Eid ul-Fitr prayer in Lapangan Merah. My niece and nephew, Asti and Noki, and Emma (Noki's wife) had been there. So did Andri and his mother, Widy. Mom had prepared ketupat, opor ayam, sayur rebung, bubuk kelapa, kerupuk--all Indonesian food, for the whole family. Later came my elder sisters and Tyas--my niece-- and their own family. Mbak Witri--my eldest sister-- brought satay and kelapa muda (young coconut). Hmmmm, yummy for a very hot day!

Mas Bud--our eldest brother-- and Ita--our youngest sister-- weren't with us (Hello mas Bud and Ita! Wish u have a very happy Eid ul-Fitr day with your families..). Endra and I stayed until night at my parent's house.
